The history of the Corrosion Protection Exhibition and Congress can be traced back to 1981. It has been taking place in St. Petersburg for over 40 years. Before 2015, the event used to take place in Lenexpo Exhibition Complex on the shore of the Gulf of Finland. Its extensive background is not a coincidence. The north-western region of Russia is known for its industrial spirit, and the need for special technologies that can be used to protect metal structures, ships, and bridges never loses its pertinence there.

In 2015, the project received a new impetus for development when the event was held in the reopened Expoforum Convention and Exhibition Centre and was participated by corrosion protection specialists from Gazprom. The main topic of the convention agenda was corrosion protection for the fuel and energy industrial facilities.

It was also when the Exhibition and Congress presented its new business communication format – the Supplier Search Centre. The event was participated by about 50 companies from 26 Russian cities. Heads and specialists of corrosion protection and preventive maintenance departments from Gazprom’s subsidiaries were presented the products brought by the major industrial companies, namely Velikie Luki Mechanical Plant, EuroChem, Electronmash, Chemcor Service, Electronic Information Systems Research and Production, Proekteleсtroteсhnika, Technoprom, Gazstroyspetsmontazh etc. The clients of the Centre confirmed that the new format can significantly enhance the likelihood of commercial deals making.

Since 2018, the events on the convention program of the Exhibition have been actively participated by specialists from oil companies.

Today, the Corrosion Protection Exhibition and Congress is a dynamically developing platform where experts in corrosion protection can meet, including specialists from Gazprom Mezhregiongaz, Transneft, Transneft R&D, LUKOIL, companies that are part of Rosneft Group, as well as Russian Railways, St. Petersburg Subway and others.
